Notes from Prague TES affiliate marketing conference & book by Jonathan Clements "My Money Journey"
Recently attended TES affiliate marketing conference in Prague. It were few intense days of networking and learning new ideas, concepts and technologies that apply to affiliate marketing, which is mainly serving adult (mainly porn) industry.
This been already my 2nd TES conference incl. one last year. Still feeling as newbie in this affiliate offers world. And figuring out how this business model operates.
Got to meet with few fellow webmasters, who manage & promote similar escort marketing or directory sites in other parts of Europe or internationally. One such example be: www.escortguide.dk
Few presenatation slides that captured my attention are below:
1.Crypto use in the affiliate marketing/adult industry:
Noticed that FiTechs/Payment gateways seem to work with any risky businesses (Porn, OnlyFans streaming), but escort related.
2.SEO tip to include hidden (clickable text) on the page. Formally Google does not like hidden text, yet clickable-hidden is ok.
3.SEO tips:
4.Visionalary - affiliate marketing/adult industry is leading the adoption of new technologies:
4.Epic highlits / key takeaways as below ;-)
Was great to hear a story of a real entrepreneur, who has created the company, maid an exit (cashing few millions), moving to USA and due to series unsucessful investments has lost almost everything. Now back in Europe launching new enterprise (Vivero.io), almost from scratch. Was great to see a man purusing his life and business despite any dawns with dedication, enthusiasm and optimism.
And on the self-development journey track for the investment and financial management learning just finished reading the 2023 book “My Money Journey. How 30 people found financial freedom - and you can too" by author Jonathan Clements, who is also a founder and editor of HumbleDollar.com. 30 personal short essays by different people about successes and failures managing personal finance in their life. These stories got me really thinking… We as humans are very similar in many ways and we have similar aspirations in search of happiness and wealth. We also do similar mistakes. One of key folly in investing seems to be person's over self-confidence in own investing wisdom, knowledge and skills, thinking if one has mastered some difficult profession, then could easily learn investing and be succesfull with money. From examples mentioned in the book we discover bit different reality. My key take from the book that one be better of assuming to know very little about investing. Once can hardly outsmart others. As per quote on p.230, My Money Journey, Jonathan Clements, contribution by Willi Am Bernstein “A day to remember“:
In parallel with reading now got hooked up on Podcast Radical Personal Finance by Joshua Sheats. Listening during Prague city walks or commute almost non-stop. Started from 1st episode and now on my 20th, few years of series to catch up are ahead. Building a better understanding of personal finacial management and habits leading to wealth creation.
And started reading the new book Atomic Habits as recommended by top New York trader Lance Breitstein. I will add my notes from the book at later post… or re-framing according the book [when?] next week Monday, 2nd Oct, [linked to any other habit/event?] after breakfast, as start working on my daily to-do list [where?] at my work PC, [what?] I will continue building my habit of adding a blog post every Monday to improving this site SEO and building business visibility.
